Italian model Anna Grigorenko offered me an image from her portfolio to create a painting from. Given that Anna is most famous for being in Playboy etc, most of her images were not quite what I normally do. However, there was one where she was holding a violin that looked like it might make for an elegant painting, with a LOT of adjustment. Like clothing. My wife, being a good sport (and many wives might not have done this!) modelled in roughly the same pose and light for me so that I could dress poor Anna appropriately. This painting is the result. Acrylic on canvas, 16" x 20", 2012
Oh, Man, that's beautiful! I've been looking at this for some time, now; it's REALLY striking. Thank God your wife helped you out to make this piece possible! Great job, I like it. Is the original for sale?
Thanks a lot! sorry to say I sold it last year. I guess this site does prints, also from Fine Art America if any problems here.
Beautiful work - Peter
It's a bit of a crime to put clothes on that woman.
thank you! I share your passion for Flamenco and love your drawings
Remarkable piece. I love the musculature in her left calf. Her eyes and hair are also very well done. I do wonder about the size of her left hand. Her palm and fingers seem very, very long.
I think that'e of the down-sides of working from photos (although I changed an awful lot of the original photo, when limbs project towards the viewer in photos they tend to look over-sized. perhaps I should have drawn that false perspective out. Not easy to do though...
wow very nice!
Wauw, that is really awesome!! Really that's really good!
