My Bio
I've been painting for over 20 years. I mostly work in acrylics, and recently have created work on unframed block canvases. But sometimes I use watercolours if the composition merits it. My work has been featured on CD and book covers (including my own published novels).

I'm very active in the local art scene in Gloucestershire where I help organise a large open air art exhibition each year in Cheltenham. This provides access for artists of all varieties and talents.

My own work is also hung in a dental waiting room in Gloucester, and a pub in the Cotswolds, as well as in many private collections all over the world. I'm exhibiting twice in 2011 - in Lower Slaughter with the Roving Artists in May (18th-24th), and at the Cheltenham Art in the Park In late June. I'm giving an art demonstration to the Gloucestershire Society of Artists in February.

This is what I mostly paint, and things have gone pretty well this year.  I've not been on Deviant Art so much recently, for which I apologise.  Hope to invest some time into uploading a lot of this year's paintings this autumn

Happy New Year everyone! This new painting is adapted from two photos by Peter Pedonomou.  I've tried to create an elegant, airy composition whilst making the best of the light and detailing. The challenge was the abundance of competing whites, broken up only occasionally by stronger tones from the wood and her hair. This provided some rather tricky issues with contrast. I find this kind of painting challenge easier to deal with in the poor natural light of the winter, when colours are muted and tones stand out better to my eyes. This large figurative painting took just over 25 hours to complete and will hopefully be one of a short series o

Busy, Busy, Busy.  Now it's Springtime I feel really energised about art, and creativity.  Just as well with the annual Cheltenham Art in the Park looming.  Hope to put some some more new work in the weeks ahead to share with my DA friends and fellow artists.
